Sales Director
Time at John German? I started at John German around 1998.
Best part of your job? Knowing our clients trust us and are confident in the knowledge we will sell their home for them. To make it as stress free as possible, we have a brilliant support team in the sales progression department. Lichfield is a small town and we regularly bump into happy customers which makes the job very rewarding.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Before going on the market, walk through your home and imagine how a buyer would see things for the very first time. Can you see anything which needs updating or fixing? Are there any rooms which look too cluttered or busy? If so, it’s worth taking a bit of time to get things looking fresh, spacious and homely.
Property Valuer
Time at John German? I joined John German in 1998/99 when JG acquired my business (Uptons in Lichfield).
Best part of your job? Visiting interesting property, establishing a good relationship with new clients, agreeing a sale that makes the buyer and the seller happy.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Seller: presentation is vital! Buyer: establish a good rapport with your local estate agents.
Where is your favourite place in Lichfield? First thing in the morning at The Bore St. Bakery. That fresh bread smell, wonderful friendly service, great attitude and a credit to Lichfield. What a way to start the day!

Time at John German? I started at John German in 2015.
Best part of your job? Meeting such a wide and varied range of people with the shared goal of moving home.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Never underestimate the importance of good property presentation and first impressions.
Where is your favourite place in Lichfield? One of my favourite places in Lichfield is the old market place where the bustling atmosphere and colourful stalls are a lively meeting place for loyal traders and bargain-loving locals – it’s just not the same when shopping on Amazon!

Time at John German? I started at John German in 2019.
Top tip for sellers: Presentation is key, my advice is to always keep a warm and inviting home. Light candles and turn all the lights on and the heating up, make first impressions count.
What would be your dream home? A barn conversion with an ultra-modern interior, high ceilings and spacious a dining-kitchen with a big wine cooler.

Time at John German? I started at John German in January 2018. We bought our house from JG in 2015 and were so impressed with the service I decided I needed to work for them!
Favourite part of your job? Getting to know new buyers and sellers, hearing from happy clients and letting people know an offer has been accepted! Moving can be a stressful process for people so it’s lovely to brighten up their day!
Top tip for buyer or seller? If you need a mortgage, speak to a mortgage advisor to get an Agreement in Principle in place before you start your search. This will put you in a much better position when making an offer on a property,
Where is your favourite place in Lichfield? I have been visiting Lichfield since I was a child, with some of my loveliest memories investigating historical buildings with my grandparents, including the iconic Lichfield Cathedral and the occasional medieval fair set in its grounds!
Sales Progressor
Time at John German? I joined John German in 2017 and having worked within the property industry since 1999 as a Senior Sales Negotiator and Property Valuer.
Favourite part of your job? Giving people the news we have exchanged and completed on the sale of their property and handing the keys over to excited buyers.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Make sure your solicitor and estate agent keep in regular contact with all parties.
What would be your dream home? A modern property with views over the beach and a swimming pool for the kids, oh and maybe with a hot tub and gym.
Lettings Administrator
becky.scargill@johngerman.co.uk
Time at John German? I joined John German Estate Agents in 2011 and have worked for both the Lettings and Sales departments.
The best part of your job? It’s a fast-paced job which provides me with a great feeling of accomplishment when I find the perfect tenant for a landlord. Another aspect of the job I enjoy is building great relationships with our landlords and tenants. It feels good when they come back to us time and time again to re-let their properties or when they are looking for a new home.
What would be your dream home? My dream home would be a period property with plenty of old features and open fires, with somewhere to put a very big Christmas tree.

Time at John German? Since 2005 both in Sales and Lettings.
The best part of your job? Building up a good relationship with landlords and tenants alike.
Top tip for buyer or seller? First impressions really do count, maximise your kerb appeal and be realistic with the rental price to avoid the property sitting empty.
What would be your dream home? I’ve always really fancied a grand design type house, perhaps by Frank Lloyd or similar.
