Sales Director
Time at John German? I started at John German around 1998.
Best part of your job? Knowing our clients trust us and are confident in the knowledge we will sell their home for them. To make it as stress free as possible, we have a brilliant support team in the sales progression department. Lichfield is a small town and we regularly bump into happy customers which makes the job very rewarding.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Before going on the market, walk through your home and imagine how a buyer would see things for the very first time. Can you see anything which needs updating or fixing? Are there any rooms which look too cluttered or busy? If so, it’s worth taking a bit of time to get things looking fresh, spacious and homely.

Time at John German? I have been at John German Estate Agents since 2004.
The best part of your job? The variety of dealing with so many aspects of business administration and particularly the marketing aspect of my role.
What would be your dream home? A self-cleaning one! Or failing that, a contemporary new home or conversion in a rural location but within walking distance of the village pub.
What are your hobbies? Exercising, skiing and socialising!
Performance Director
What is your experience? I’ve worked in agency for 16 years now and I’m completely addicted to it. Although I’ve moved on, and up, over the years, the best part of the role is always interacting with people.
The best part of your job? People, always people. Helping someone achieve their dream, their goal, is priceless and it is the most euphoric part of the job.
Top tip for a buyer or seller? Facts are key so when you speak to an agent, ask them to back up what they say.
What would be your dream home? I’m a simple soul so as long as I have room in the garden for a BBQ, and to hit some golf balls, I am happy.
Property Valuer
Favourite part of your job? I enjoy the many varied aspects of my job, but the most satisfying is working closely with our customers to understand the motivation to move home.
Top tip for buyer or seller? If you are looking to buy, it is essential to seek financial advice before you go out on viewings – getting a mortgage can be one of the biggest challenges when purchasing a property. It’s good to know that you can afford something before you fall in love with it. Also, when selling, choose your agent carefully – a low fee may be attractive but having an agent that keeps you updated and works with you every step of the way can take a lot of stress out of the process and be worth every penny.
What would be your dream home? A spacious country cottage on the coast, within easy walking distance of the beach.
Sales Negotiator
What is your experience? I come from a Finance & Banking background, and I have loads of customer service experience. I am a very big people’s person and love to help and support where I can.
The best part of your job? Apart from looking at stunning dreamy homes, I love the fact that this job isn’t just a job, it’s a journey, it’s a process, it’s a dream come true for some. I enjoy the thought I can be part of someone’s journey to secure their forever home. It comforts me knowing that I have helped families, with a place to live and foster the most important relationships, as well as helping them secure a financial investment that can provide the money they need later in life if required.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Make sure you come fully prepared, Financially, mentally and emotionally. Buying or selling a home isn’t easy, but once it is done, your new chapter begins.
What would be your dream home? My dream home would be a four-bedroom house by the seaside, in a warm country. I would love a nice big, easily maintained garden and somewhere I could have a built in BBQ to the left and hot tub to the right. I would love a nice field for my boys to play football and somewhere I could host parties and family gatherings. This is not only my dream, it is my goal too.

For a buyer – try and overlook décor remember you can adapt to your own taste.

The best part of your job? Creating brochures for all the different homes we put on the market, I find it so interesting.
Top tip for buyer or seller? Do some research on your finances to ensure you can afford the property you are looking at. Also be sensible when deciding how much to borrow, I was once told ‘just because you can doesn’t mean you should’.
