Over £3000 donated to Rainbows Hospice for Children & Young People in Loughborough
Last year was filled with great success for our 10 offices as we celebrated our 175th anniversary and completed an entire year of fundraising for our nominated charities St Giles Hospice and Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
After choosing the two local hospices as our Charities of the Year, members of staff from our 10 regional offices across the Midlands pulled together to raise as much money as possible from various activities – which ended up reaching into the thousands!
Over the course of the year the team’s efforts raised more than £7,700, with 50% of the proceeds being donated to Rainbows in Loughborough.
Elaine Chamberlain, Practice Manager at John German formed part of the fundraising team. She says: “To commemorate the company’s 175th birthday we decided to take on this challenge, and while we’ve done charity work in the past with coffee mornings and smaller events, we’ve never done anything on this scale before.
“We nominated Rainbows as one of our charities as it’s close to our offices, and we feel it’s important to support local organisations.
“From various events throughout the year our team raised £6,330 while an additional £1,420 was donated to our Virgin Money Giving page.”
The money Rainbows has received from John German will go towards the care and support of children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
“This has been a great way to promote and celebrate our special anniversary while also supporting a good cause. It’s been hard work at times and a lot of effort has gone into it, but we all got involved and really enjoyed it.
“It’s wonderful to get involved with the local community as our staff are very knowledgeable of their regions and interact a lot with local people and businesses, so it’s lovely to give something back. It’s been a very rewarding year.”
Kate Golding, Corporate Partnership Manager at Rainbows, said: “We would like to thank John German Estate Agents for all of the hard work they have put in over the year, their fundraising has been amazing. Without the support of companies like this, we simply wouldn’t be able to open our doors and provide the invaluable service that we do for our children, young people and their families.”

"I can definitely recommend John German Estate Agents in Ashbourne to sell your house. I received a fantastic personalised service, which was second to none. The brochure they produced of our property, provided prospective purchasers with excellent photos of the house both internally and externally, as well as highlighting the key features in each of the rooms; the professional services of an independent photographic service accentuated the main selling points. The customer service experience was first class, with regular updates about the sale. It took away all the stress associated with moving house, and they dealt with everything as part of their inclusive expert after sales service. I was pleased that this was all included in their competitive pricing and found them giving good value for money. "
