A huge well done to Ellen in Accounts and Rachel in Lettings for completing this year's Stafford Half Marathon. We were proud to sponsor the ladies for taking part, helping to raise money for Katharine House Hospice in Stafford.
Although the course was fairly flat it was very windy on the day, however despite this, Ellen's time in particular was fantastic, she managed to complete the 13.1 mile run in just 1hr 56mins!
"It was a great half marathon, which was very well organised and extremely well supported. Even 100 metres from the finish line, when I wanted to walk, I felt I couldn’t with all the supporters cheering everyone on!
My thoughts at the finish were that this will only be the half way point for my friend who is doing the London Marathon in April, so I can get to the finish line!" commented Ellen.
Katharine House Hospice
Katharine House provides a range of services offering help, care and support for people with advanced life-limiting conditions across mid-Staffordshire. All services are free of charge.
The Hospice is situated in the grounds of Stafford General Hospital but is independent from the hospital and relies heavily on donations for the almost £2.9 million needed to run the hospice each year.
Events fundraiser, Lisa Carson from Katharine House said "We would like to thank John German for their valuable support by sponsoring Rachel and Ellen to run the Stafford Half Marathon again this year. Every penny makes a huge difference to the lives of our patients and their families and the support of local businesses and individuals ensures we can continue to provide our free care”.

"Katharine House Hospice provide amazing support to patients and their families in Stafford who have been touched by cancer and other long term illnesses. It was a pleasure to take part in the marathon to help raise funds for such a worthy cause." Rachel commented.
