In celebration of Bring Your Dog To Work Day, Joanne Louis-Chambers, Sales Negotiator at John German reminisces about the moment she set eyes on Jeffrey, a chance meeting at work which ultimately led to him becoming a big part of her family!
"A couple of years ago, a lady came into the Loughborough office wanting to book a valuation for her property. She was a lovely sweet old lady, spending a good half hour having a chat with me. It was only when she got up to leave I spotted she had brought in a dog…Jeffrey!
If there is such a thing as love at first sight, then this was it! I completely fell in love with Jeffrey & had to give him a fuss! Whilst he nuzzled me, I asked if he could stay and be our office dog! The lady, Jeffrey’s owner, laughed explaining she did actually need someone to look after him whilst she went away on holiday. And as luck would have it, my parents run a dog boarding business in Loughborough so I passed their details onto her.
This led to Jeffrey coming to stay with my parents, and like me, they fell in love with him too.
Over the next few months, sadly the lady’s circumstance changed , and her son called to ask if we could suggest a new home for Jeffrey. There were plenty of takers, with myself, my parents and David, Sales Director at John German all eagerly volunteering to have him, until it was eventually decided that Jeffrey would live with my parents.
Instead of Bring Your Dog To Work Day, my family and I celebrate Meet Your Dog At Work Day!” laughed Jo.
"A professional team, who understood the realities of the market, gave excellent advice and helped us achieve the best value for our property, more than we expected. They updated us regularly, asked all the right questions and supported us through the whole process."
