As local sponsors, John German Estate Agents are delighted to announce the success of the Barton Family Festival 2018
This year's Barton Family Festival was a great success, with the event raising over £4500 for local causes, including Burton YMCA, Staffordshire Foster Carers, Barton Thomas Russell Infant School and St James Church.
Marie Marklew, Sales Manager at the Burton and Barton under Needwood branches took along her niece Savannah for the day and tells us know what they got up to. "Barton Family Festival is always a firm favourite with us, especially having the office central in the village.
We get to see the joy on the faces of the kiddies as they follow the scarecrow trail and of course, the teddy bear rides. We arrived with our favourite bear, Blue and immediately ran to the face painting station. Next stop was Passport Control to get Blue a passport, which was sponsored by John German. He duly sat for his photo to be taken and a quick heath check to ensure he was fit to fly. Then it was off to the scanner to ensure that he had a nice dinner – turns out Blue had binged on jelly beans!
JG Bear also came along for the day, standing in as Blue’s stunt double for when he was feeling a bit queasy after his rocket ride up the side of the church. Keeping the children in mind, the John German scarecrow (or should I say Scare-Gru) was based on the much loved Despicable Me films.
I must send a special shout out to all the volunteers, who made it a whimsical and magical experience. All in all, it was a wonderful day." concluded Marie.
