Described as the Gateway to Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, it’s so easy to see why the Staffordshire village of Brocton is so popular with both local people & new comers to the area.
Property Values Are Strong
Brocton is home to a variety of housing yet limited new development opportunities, which ensures existing properties are extremely sought after and values hold strong with many fetching premium prices.
Gateway to Cannock Chase
The village is nestled against Cannock Chase, an area designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) which covers approximately 26 square miles. It comprises a mixture of natural deciduous woodland, coniferous plantations and open heathland. A variety of wildlife including a number of rare and endangered birds in addition, to a herd of around 800 fallow deer.
It is a truly wonderful place to walk with the family and dogs. Equally for the sporty, Cannock Chase is extremely popular with mountain bikers, runners and pony trekking.
The Chase also offers many other activities including concerts within the heart of the forest attracting stars like The Kaiser Chiefs, James Bay and Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott to name just a few.
Shugborough Estate is on the doorstep
Directly opposite the Chase is the stunning 900 acre Shugborough Estate; the former ancestral home of Lord Lichfield, a renowned photographer and cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. It features the magnificent Shugborough Hall with working servant’s quarters, rare breed farm and a walled garden.
There are also stunning parkland grounds to stroll along. The Estate is part of The National Trust and hosts many activities, attractions and events throughout the year, including the famous Ironman 70.3 comprising 1.2-mile open water swim, 56-mile bike course and 13.1 mile run. This attracts super fit athletes, as well as stars like Chef Gordon Ramsey.
Beautiful village location great for the commuter
The County Town centre approximatively 4.5 miles away also includes an intercity railway station with services to Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Manchester, Liverpool to name a few. The real jewel in the crown are the regular Virgin Services to London Euston taking a mere 1 hour 20 minutes.
