John German is encouraging everyone to bake a cake for their Children in Need Coffee Morning on Friday 20th November 2009 at their Staffordshire and Derbyshire branches.

BBC Children in Need’s mission is to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. Their vision is a society where each and every child and young person is supported to realise their potential. In 2008, BBC Children in Need raised over £37 million to make a real difference to children’s lives.

BBC Children in Need is able to make grants to voluntary projects,  community groups and registered charities that will offer practical and lasting support to children and young people:

  • Experiencing poverty, deprivation or homelessness
  • Suffering from illness, abuse, distress or neglect
  • With learning, sensory or physical disabilities
  • With behavioural and psychological disorders

Donna Aldridge says, “Baking a cake for Children in Need is a fun and simple way to raise funds. It will be interesting to see the results of our baking; I believe there may be a few brought Victoria Sponge Cakes!! We will be selling slices of cake; all the money raised will be donated to Children in Need”
